Akademi Kebidanan Estu Utomo Boyolali memiliki mahasiswa dengan latar belakang pendidikan yang berbeda, yaitu SMU dan SPK. Hasil belajar skills lab mahasiswa baik dari SMU maupun SPK rata - rata cukup, demikian juga untuk prestasi belajar praktik klinik kebidanan. Penelitian ini mempunyai tujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara latar belakang pendidikan dan skills lab dengan prestasi belajar praktik klinik kebidanan.
Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan pendekatan waktu Cross Sectional. Populasi dari penelitian ini adalah semua mahasiswa Akademi Kebidanan Estu Utomo Boyolali tahun akademik 2009/2010 sejumlah 239. Sedangkan sampelnya diambil dengan tehnik proporsional cluster random sampling, dimana untuk menentukan jumlah sample digunakan rumus Slovin, didapatkan sample 150 mahasiswa, terdiri dari 100 mahasiswa jalur umum (SMU) dan 50 mahasiswa jalur khusus (SPK). Analisa data secara univariat, bivariat dengan Chi-Square dan Korelasi Spearman Rank serta multivariate dengan analisis regresi ganda.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada hubungan antara latar belakang pendidikan dengan prestasi belajar praktik klinik kebidanan (ρ = 0,000 < 0,05), ada hubungan antara skills lab dengan prestasi belajar praktik klinik kebidanan (ρ-value 0,000 < 0,05 dan ρ = 0,465), ada hubungan secara bersama antara latar belakang pendidikan dan skills lab dengan prestasi belajar praktik klinik kebidanan (Nilai Adjusted R Square sebesar 0,226 dan Nilai F hitung 22,771 dengan nilai signifikansi 0,000 lebih kecil dari 0,05).
Dari penelitian ini dapat ditarik kesimpulan, semakin sesuai latar belakang pendidikan dan semakin baik hasil belajar skills lab, makin baik pula prestasi belajar praktik klinik kebidanan mahasiswa.

Estu Utomo Midwifery Academy of Boyolali has students with different educational backgrounds, namely: those with the General Secondary School education and those with the Health Nursing School education. The learning results of the laboratory skills as well as the learning achievement in Midwifery Clinical Practice of the students with either the former education or the latter one are fairly good.
The objective of the research is to investigate the correlation of the educational background and the laboratory skills to the learning achievement in Midwifery Clinical Practice.
The research used a quantitative research method with a cross-sectional approach. Its population was all of the 239 students of Estu Utomo Midwifery Academy of Boyolali in the academic year of 2009/2010. The samples of the research were 150 students, and were taken by using a proportional cluster random sampling technique based on Slovin’s formula. Out of 150 samples, 100 were those with the General Secondary School education, and the rest 50 students were those with the Health Nursing School education. The data of the research were analyzed univariately and bivariately by using Chi-Square formula and Spearman Rank’s Correlation and multivariately by using a regression technique of analysis.
The results of the research show that (1) there is a correlation between the educational background and the learning achievement in Midwifery Clinical Practice as indicated by ρ = 0.000 < 005; (2) there is a correlation between the laboratory skills and the learning achievement in Midwifery Clinical Practice as shown by (ρ-value = 0.000 < 0.05 and ρ = 0.465; and (3) there is a simultaneous correlation of the educational background and the laboratory skills to the learning achievement in Midwifery Clinical Practice as pointed out by the value of Adjusted R Square = 0.226 and the value of Fcount = 22.771 at the significance level of 0.000, which is smaller than 0.05.
Based on the results of the research, a conclusion is drawn that the more appropriate the educational background of the students and the better the learning result in the laboratory skills, the better the learning achievement in Midwifery Clinical Practice of the students is.
