Tujuan dari penelitian inin adalah untuk mengetahui apakah: (1) magic triangle game lebih efektif dari conventional technique untuk mengajar vocabulary untuk siswa kelas 7 SMP N 1 Sumabng Tahun Ajaran r 2009/2010; (2) siswa yang mempunya level interest tinggi mempunya kemampuan vocabulary yang bagus dari pada siswa yang mempunyai level interest yang rendah; and (3) apakah ada interaksi antara tekhnik mengajar dengan interest untuk mengajar vocabulary untuk siswa SMP kelas 7.

Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian eksperimen. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas 7 SMP N 1 Sumabng Tahun Ajaran 2009/2010. Dalam penelitian ini menggunakan technik cluster ramdom sampling. Sample nya 72 siswa mencakup 36 siswa kelas VIIE sebagai experiment kelas dan 36 siswa kelas VIIB sebagai kontrol kelas. Instrument yang dipakai kuesioner tentang interest dan tes vocabulary yang dibuat oleh peneliti. Sebelum instrument digunakan, Try out digunakan untuk mengetahui validitas dan reliabilitas instrumen. Setelah dilakukan penelitian selama 9 pertemuan, Peneliti melakukan post test. Setelah data diperoleh, peneliti menganalisa data untuk mencari, frequency distribution, normalitas data, dan data homogenitas. Kemudian, peneliti menggunakan ANOVA test (multifactor analysis of variance) dan TUKEY test untuk mengetes hipotesis.
Berdasar data dari multifactor analysis of variance, dapat disimpulkan: (1) Mengajar vocabulary dengan menggunakan magic triangle game tidal lebih efektif dari pada conventional technique; (2) Penguasaan vocabulary pada siswa yang mempunyai tingkat interest tingggi sama dengan siswa yang mempunyai interest rendah; and (3) Tidak ada interaksi antara teknik mengajar dengan interest untuk mengajar vocabulary.
Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulak bahwa penggunaan magic triangle game tidak lebih effektif dari pada conventional teknik untuk mengajar vocabulary pada siswa SMP N 1 Sumbang Tahun Ajaran 0f 2009/2010, Penguasaan vocabulary pada siswa yang mempunyai tingkat interest tingggi sama dengan siswa yang mempunyai interest rendah; dan Tidak ada interaksi antara teknik mengajar dengan interest untuk mengajar vocabulary.

The main objectives of the research are to know whether: (1) magic triangle game is more effective than conventional technique in teaching vocabulary for the first grade students of SMP N 1 Sumbang in the Academic Year 2009/2010; (2) the first grade students having high interest have better vocabulary mastery than those having low interest; and (3) there is an interaction between teaching technique and interest in teaching vocabulary for the first grade students for teaching vocabulary.
The experimental method was employed in this research. The population of the research was the first grade students of SMP N 1 Sumbang in the Academic Year 2009/2010. The sampling technique used was Cluster Random Sampling. The sample in the research was 72 students covering 36 students of VIIE as the experimental class and 36 students of VIIB as the control class. The research instruments consist of a questionare of interest and vocabulary test which was designed by the researcher. Before the instruments were used, a try-out was done to know the validity and reliability of the instrument. After treatment was given in nine meetings, the researcher conducted a post-test to get the research data. Having got research data, the researcher analyzed the data in terms of their frequency distribution, normality of the sample distribution, and data homogeneity. Then, researcher used ANOVA test (multifactor analysis of variance) and TUKEY test to test the research hypotheses.
Referring to the summary of multifactor analysis of variance, it can be concluded that: (1) Teaching vocabulary using magic triangle game to the first grade students is not more effective than the one using conventional technique; (2) The vocabulary mastery of the students having high interest is the same as the one of those having low interest; and (3) There is no interaction between teaching technique and learning interest in teaching vocabulary.
Based on the research findings, it can be concluded that the use of magic triangle game is not effective for teaching vocabulary for the first grade students of SMP N 1 Sumbang in the Academic Year 0f 2009/2010, the vocabulary mastery of the students having high interest is the same as the one of those having low interest; and there is no interaction between teaching technique and learning interest in teaching vocabulary.
