Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: (1) Kurikulum Kepedulian Pada Diri dan Lingkungan di Sekolah Dasar; (2) Proses pembelajaran Mata Pelajaran Kepedulian Pada Diri dan Lingkungan di Sekolah Dasar: (3) Hambatan dalam proses pembelajaran mata pelajaran Kepedulian Pada Diri dan Lingkungan di Sekolah Dasar.
Sesuai dengan tujuan penelitian, maka penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan studi kasus terpancang. Sampel penelitian ini adalah sejumlah orang tertentu yang dapat memberikan keterangan. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan wawancara mendalam, observasi langsung dan dokumen. Teknik sampling adalah purposive sampling. Validitas data dengan trianggulasi data dan trianggulasi metode. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis interaktif.
Hasil penelitian ini adalah: (1) Proses pembelajaran KPDL yang dilaksanakan di SD Negeri Kandri 01 Kecamatan Gunungpati menggunakan kurikulum 2006 yang sudah disempurnakan, proses pembelajarannya berdiri sendiri, tidak terintegrasi dengan mata pelajaran lain (2) Proses pembelajaran menggunakan pendekatan berbasis konstektual dengan memanfaatkan lingkungan sekitar sebagai sumber belajar (3) Hambatan-hambatannya antara lain: terbatasnya sumber belajar, guru kurang persiapan, motivasi kurang, latar belakang pendidikan guru tentang lingkungan hidup belum ada, kurangnya penataran/seminar/lokakarya tentang lingkungan, beberapa siswa menganggap KPDL tidak penting dan alokasi waktu yang kadang-kadang digunakan untuk mengajarkan mata pelajaran lain yang diujikan secara nasional, (4) Usaha-usaha untuk mengatasi hambatan tersebut antara lain: mengembangkan atau menjabarkan sendiri sumber belajar yang ada melalui buku-buku tentang lingkungan hidup, surat kabar dan internet, menyisipkan muatan lokal KPDL pada mata pelajaran lain, membawa permasalahan pembelajaran dalam pertemuan Kelompok Kerja Guru (KKG), Kelompok Kerja Kepala Sekolah (KKKS) dan forum Kelompok Kerja Pengawas Sekolah (KKPS), mengikutsertakan pelatihan guru yang terkait dengan proses pembelajaran KPDL, memberi pemahaman kepada siswa dan mengadakan kerjasama dengan keluarga serta masyarakat dalam mensosialisasikan KPDL dan kerjasama dengan dinas terkait dalam pembelajaran KPDL.

The objectives of this research are to investigate: (1) the curriculum of Self-care- and Environmental Concern at Primary School; (2) the learning process of Self-care and Environmental Concern at Primary School; and (3) the constraints encountered in the learning process of Self-care and Environmental Concern at Primary School.
This research used the descriptive qualitative method with the embedded case study. The samples of the research were a number of certain people who were able to give information for the research. The samples were taken by using the purposive sampling technique. The data of the research were gathered through in-depth interview, direct observation, and document. The data were validated by using the data and method triangulations. They were then analyzed by using the interactive technique of analysis.
The results of the research are as follows: (1) the learning process of Self-care and Environmental Concern at Primary School subject matter implemented at State Primary School Kandri 01, Gunungpati sub-district uses the standardized 2006 curriculum, and the learning process of Self-care and Environmental Concern at Primary School is conducted independently or it is not integrated with other subject matters; (2) the learning process of Self-care and Environmental Concern at Primary School uses the contextual approach by utilizing the surrounding environment as the learning resource; (3) the constraints encountered in the learning process of Self-care and Environmental Concern at Primary School are the following: (a) the learning resource is limited, (b) the teacher is less prepared, (c) the teacher’s motivation is low, (d) the teacher does not have any educational background in the field, (e) the training, seminar, or workshop activities on Environment are less; (f) some students do not consider that Self-care and Environmental Concern subject matter is important, and (g) the time allotted for the subject matter is used for other subject matters tested nationally; and (4) the efforts taken to deal with the constraints are as follows: (a) independently developing or elaborating the available learning resources by utilizing the environmental books, newspapers, and internet, (b) inserting the local content of Self-care and Environmental Concern subject matter in other subject matters, bringing the learning problems to the meetings of subject matter teachers’ work group and principals’ work group, and the forums of school supervisors’ work group, giving understanding on Self-care and Environmental Concern to the students, and having cooperation with the students’ families and communities to socialize Self-care and Environmental Concern and with other related offices on the learning of Self-care and Environmental Concern.
