Kadar kolesterol HDL sebelum intervensi 42.00±8.87 vs setelah intervensi 49.00±12.23 (p=0,347). Kadar kolesterol LDL sebelum intervensi 132.38±44.42 vs setelah intervensi 142.81±35.38 (p=0,115). Perubahan profil lipid setelah 3 minggu intervensi menunjukkan penurunan kadar trigliserida sebesar -6,94 mg/dL (5,21%), peningkatan kadar kolesterol HDL sebesar 7,00 mg/dL (16,67%), dan peningkatan kadar kolesterol LDL sebesar 10,44 mg/dL (7,89%).
Kesimpulan: Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dibandingkan kelompok kontrol penurunan kadar trigliserida, peningkatan kadar kolesterol HDL, dan peningkatan kadar kolesterol LDL secara statistik tak signifikan.

ABSTRACT
Sugeng Purnomo . S531208013. 2014. The Effect of omega 3 Supplementation on Lipid Profile in type 2 Diabetes Patients with Obese at RSDUD Dr. Moewardi Surakarta. TESIS. Background : Obesity, dyslipidemia, and hyperglycemia which lasted longer in type 2 diabetes patients with obese increased the risk of cardiovascular disease. Dietary omega-3 is expected to improve the lipid profile of type 2 diabetes patients with obese.
Objectives : This study aimed to determine the effect of omega 3 supplementation on lipid profile in type 2 diabetes patients with obese.
Methods : Thirty-two type 2 diabetes patients with obese ( BMI ≥ 25 kg/m2) divided into 2 groups. Sixteen subjects received diabetes standard therapy and 16 subjects received 2 grams of omega-3 and diabetes standard therapy within 21 days. Examination of the lipid profile done before and after the intervention, after fasting 10 hours, examination including triglycerides, HDL cholesterol, and LDL cholesterol.
Results : Mean total triglyceride levels 133.13±48.55 before the intervention vs after the intervention was 126.19±40.81(p=0,107). HDL cholesterol levels before intervention 42,00±8,87 vs 49,00±12,23 after intervention (p=0,347). LDL cholesterol levels before intervention 132.38±44.42 vs 142.81±35.38 after intervention (p=0,115). Changes in lipid profile after 3 weeks of the intervention showed the decrease in triglyceride -6,94 mg/dL (5.21%), the increase in HDL cholesterol 7,00 mg/dL (16.67%), and the increase in HDL cholesterol 10,44 mg/dL (7.89%).
Conclusion : This study showed that compared to the control group, decrease triglyceride, increase HDL cholesterol, and LDL cholesterol levels were statistically not significant.
