Homeschooling merupakan salah satu lembaga pendidikan non formal yang keberadaannya telah mendapatkan legalitas secara hukum. Melalui metode pembelajarannya yang khas Homeschooling mampu menjadi alternatif pendidikan bagi orang tua dan anak yang enggan mengikuti pendidikan pada jalur formal. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui perencanaan pembelajaran IPS di Homeschooling Kak Seto (HSKS) Solo, mengetahui pelaksanaan pembelajaran IPS di Homeschooling Kak Seto (HSKS) Solo, mengetahui evaluasi pembelajaran IPS di Homeschooling Kak Seto (HSKS) Solo, dan mengetahui kendala pembelajaran IPS di Homeschooling Kak Seto (HSKS) Solo.
Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan strategi penelitian studi kasus. Teknik pengambilan data yang digunakan adalah wawancara, observasi dan analisis dokumen. Teknik pengambilan sampel dengan cara purposive sampling. Validasi data dilakukan dengan triangulasi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah model analisis interaktif yaitu pengumpulan data, reduksi data, sajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan.
Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa 1) Tutor melaksanaan perencanaan pembelajaran dengan membuat silabus dan RPP. 2) Pembelajaran IPS dilaksanakan secara komunitas dan distance learning, langkah-langkah pembelajaran dilaksanakan melalui tiga tahap yaitu kegiatan pendahuluan, kegiatan inti dan penutup, namun tutor belum melaksanakan masing-masing tahapan secara lengkap, metode yang digunakan bervariasi namun tutor masih mendominasi jalannya pembelajaran. 3) Dalam proses evaluasi tutor menggunakan penilaian formatif, penilaian sumatif dan portofolio; 4) Kendala yang ditemukan selama proses pembelajaran yaitu tutor mengalami kesulitan pada saat mengajar materi yang bukan merupakan bidang ilmunya, tutor kesulitan menemukan metode yang tepat untuk dapat menarik minat dan motivasi siswa, kurangnya efektivitas waktu dalam pembelajaran.

Homeschooling is one of non formal educating institution that existence has got legality in law. From teaching method the specific character of Homeschooling can be alternative learning for parent also for children that doesn’t want to follow formal education. The purpose of this study was to determine the learning social studies plan in the Homeschooling Kak Seto (HSKS) Solo, knowing the implementation of learning social studies in Homeschooling Kak Seto (HSKS) Solo, knowing the social studies of learning evaluation in Homeschooling Kak Seto (HSKS) Solo, and know the social studies of learning problems in Homeschooling Kak Seto (HSKS) Solo.
This research is a qualitative research descriptive by case study strategy research. Data collection techniques were used interviews, observation, and document analysis. Technique of taking sample is by the purposive sampling. The data validation was conducted using triangulation. The data analysis was conducted using an interactive analysis model encompassing data collection, data reduction, data display and conclusion drawing.
Results of this study concluded that 1) The planning social science of learning to create a syllabus and lesson plan; 2) Social science learning was implementing with community and distance learning. Learning process excute for three process they are: opening activity, nucleus activity and closing activity, but tutor hasn’t carry out all off process completely. The method that used was varied but tutor still dominated of learning; 3) In the process evaluation tutor using formative assessment, summative assessment and portfolio; 4) Problems were found during the learning process are the tutor gets difficulties when teach material that is not a field of knowledge, tutor gets difficulties to found the accurate method that can interest and has student motivation, at least has efectivity time during learning
